Feb. 4 Debut of “In Her Words” a Success

The director and cast of “In Her Words” would like to thank the 50+ people who came out on Sat,Feb. 4 for the debut of the production.  We would like apologize wholeheartedly to those who came at 1:45pm due to the inaccurate listing in the Washington Post’s Going Out Guide which indicated that the show started at that time, instead of its 1pm actual start time. We hope that those who came later and missed most of the show will feel inclined to come to our Feb. 18 free show at Capitol View Library in NE.

Here is some of the great feedback we saw on Twitter about the show:

@ninasophia81: The music being performed here- *chills* #InHerWords #MLKLibrary

@thepbg: MOTHER ZORA JUST SHOWED UP! Im getting my whole life! #InHerWords

@thepbg: This young lady portraying Nina Simone is exquisite. #InHerWords

And the library liaison, Cassandra Harper wrote:

Dear Ms Ali-Coleman,

On behalf of the DC Public Library, I want to thank you and the other cast members of In Her Words for celebrating Black History Month at the DC Public Library.

In Her Words is a moving, inspirational production, the music and theater production was superb. I hope that you and the cast members …share In Her Words with future audiences.- Cassandra Harper, Social Sciences Librarian, Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Library

If you saw the show today and would like to share your feedback, we’d love to hear it. Post your comment below.
