On Feb. 16, the Liberated Muse Arts Group presented “In Her Words” to a room of about 100 Peace Corps personnel while the performance was live streamed to affiliate offices across the world.
The cast, including actresses Quineice, Anisha Newbill, Tracy Chiles McGhee, Nia Simmons and Colie Williams reprised their roles as Billie Holiday, Nina Simone, Zora Neale Hurston, Lena Horne and Lucille Clifton respectively, while writer/director Khadijah Ali-Coleman stood in as the character “Cass”, filling in for actress Naomi Rose. Rose will reprise her role as Cass on Sat. Feb. 18 at the final show of “In Her Words” at Capitol View Library.
